Self-confidence and self-awareness are very important in a young woman’s life. If she grows up without the proper self-confidence she needs, then it will often times end with the young woman becoming a quitter, not doing well socially, and not doing well in public speaking. If, however, girls develop these skills early in life, then when they’re older, they’ll shine in the spotlight instead of shying away from it.
But how can young girls gain self-confidence and learn self-awareness? One of the main ways is through dance, theater, and performance. Dance, in particular, teaches girls to become aware of their bodies in a positive way. When they’re part of a dance class, they learn to improve their bodies and their performance and learn how to strive to always be better and to constantly improve themselves. This is an extremely positive trait later in life that will help them succeed in the adult world. When adults seek to constantly improve themselves, they will perform better in jobs, thus improving their worth ethic. They will be less inclined to give up and just quit. Instead, they will stick through tough times.
Classes like dancing and even performance and theater also help to teach young girls not to be shy. By getting used to being in the spotlight early, they’ll get used to public speaking and will do better in social situations as they’re growing up and being immersed into the adult world. Working with a dance team, in particular, teaches them how to work together and will prepare them for working as a team when they have coworkers later on in life.
Learning to dance and perform keeps young girls in a routine and gives them the discipline they need to improve when things get tough, rather than giving up too soon. It’s a necessary skill to making it out in the real world as adults, and dance will teach it to them early in life.
